FLOATING CONDITIONS ON MISSOURI'S
CURRENT & JACKS FORK RIVERS

We want to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day. We have had a beautiful spring. The Current River
is floatable. Please remember that we are in a smaller watershed than the big rivers. The dogwoods
are blooming and we are working on the campgrounds at this time. We want to wish everyone that is
graduating from High School and College a very Happy Graduation. This also includes those who are
graduating from eighth grade this yeas 2013.
WE WANT TO REMIND EVERYONE ABOUT OUR EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT. OUR 800 NUMBERS ARE ON VACATION SO PLEASE
CALL US AT 1-573-858-3224 or 1-573-858-3286. WE HAVE PLENTY OF CAMPSITES AVAILABLE AT JASON PLACE AND JACKS
FORK CANOES. ALSO CANOES, KAYAKS, AND RAFTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR EVERY WEEKEND IN MAY,JUNE,JULY,AUGUST, AND
SEPTEMBER. WE HAVE PLENTY TO RENT DURING THE WEEK.
AKERS FERRY CANOE RENTAL IS OPEN DAILY FOR CANOEING. WE RUN CANOES DAILY IF THE WEATHER PERMITS.
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL TIME OF YEAR FOR FLOATING THE CURRENT RIVER AND THE JACKS FORK RIVER. We are
opening the Jason Place Campground with limited facilities at this time. You will need to check
in at our Akers Ferry Store.
WE HAVE PLENTY OF CANOES, KAYAKS, AND RAFTS AVAILABLE EVERYDAY. WE HAVE MEDLOCK AND WELCH SPRINGS ON THE
UPPER CURRENT. FLOATERS HAVE REPORTED SEEING THE EAGLES ALSO.
WELCH'S SPRING EMPTIES APPROXIMATELY 75 MILLION GALLONS OF WATER DAILY INTO THE RIVER.
OUR RIVER HAS WATER FOR FOR FLOATING.
AKERS FERRY IS LOCATED TWO MILES BELOW WELCH SPRING WHICH PUMPS 75 MILLI0N GALLONS OF WATER DAILY INTO THE

THE CURRENT RIVER IS GOOD FOR FLOATING FROM CEDAR GROVE DOWN.PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE ARE A
DIFFERENT WATERSHED THAN THE RIVERS CLOSE TO ST. LOUIS. SINCE WE ARE A SPRING FED RIVER OUR RIVERS
ALWAYS HAVE WATER.
THE CURRENT AND JACKS FORK RIVERS ARE FLOATABLE AND CLEAR
CANOES, KAYAKS, AND RAFTS ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.
CAMPSITES ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE AT JASON PLACE CAMPGROUND AND JACKS FORK CAMPGROUND.
THE FERRY IS OPEN FOR CROSSINGS FROM 8 AM TO 5 PM DAILY. THE HIGHWAY IS BLACKTOP ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RIVER.
THE CURRENT RIVER AND JACKS FORK ARE PERFECT FOR FLOATING. WE HAVE PLENTY OF CANOES AND CAMPSITES
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE ARE ONLY TWO COUNTIES NORTH OF THE ARKANSAS LINE.
Since we DO NOT have a 911 address or a physical street address for GPS
directions type in AKERS,MO and you should be able to find us. Roadmaps are
still your best reference in following directions and getting to us.
YES, WE ARE OPEN DAILY FOR CANOEING,KAYAKING AND RAFTING. OUR CAMPGROUND IS
OPEN ALSO. IF NO ONE IS AT JASON PLACE, PLEASE CHECK IN AT AKERS FERRY.OUR WATER LEVEL ON THE
RIVER IS GREAT FOR FLOATING FROM CEDAR GROVE TO BIG SPRING.
The Current River and the Jacks Fork River are beautiful for floating right now.

GREAT FOR CANOEING, RAFTING, TUBING, KAYAKING, AND CAMPING.
WE ARE FLOATING CANOES, KAYAKS,& RAFTS EVERYDAY
THE CURRENT RIVER AND THE JACKS FORK RIVER ARE
PERFECT FOR FLOATING. All weekends are still open for canoes,rafts, and kayaks in
2012. There will not be a price increase in 2012

OUR RESTAURANT IS OPEN ON THE WEEKENDS STARTING AT NOON FRIDAY AND UNTIL 2 PM ON SUNDAY.

WE DO RENT CANOES DAILY THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. YOU CAN TROUT FISH FROM A CANOE ALONG THE RIVER.

We have just reduced the price on this property. It is listed with Century 21 in Salem, MO
OUR OPERATING HOURS ARE 8AM-7PM DAILY. WE RENT CANOES DAILY AND WE ARE OPEN YEAR ROUND.
CANOES, KAYAKS, AND RAFTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE EVERY DAY SUNDAY THRU FRIDAY. Reservations
are not needed,however it does help us if we know you are coming and how many
canoes, rafts, and kayaks you
Jason Place Campground is open for camping. However, you need to check in at the
Akers Ferry Store during the week. We still have a staff on the weekends.
Please use a road map,the map on our brochure, or the map on the website to find us.
We are a rural route and some GPS are not programed to find us.
THE RIVERS ARE VERY ENJOYABLE FOR FLOATING.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE CURRENT RIVER IS LOCATED IN SHANNON COUNTY AND IF THE WEATHERMAN SAYS
IT RAINING IN SALEM. IT MAY NOT BE RAINING ON THE RIVER AS WE ARE 21 MILES SOUTH.
PLEASE USE A GOOD OLD FASHION ROAD MAP TO COME TO US AS MANY GPS SYSTEMS ARE TAKING PEOPLE
TO THE WRONG PLACES OR ON A WILD GOOSE CHASE.
We have plenty of canoes and campsites available at Akers Ferry, Jacks Fork, and Jason
Place during the week.
If your emails have not been answered our satellite dish has been down for two weeks
and we are not back in operation and trying to catch up
Please remember that cell phones do not work in our area. Also we no longer guarantee that
the hot tubs will be working. We are still working on our digital TVs. We are having to search
for antennas that will pick up farther than what our local Wal Mart sells.
All of our 800 numbers are working.
FALL IS A BEAUTIFUL TIME TO BE ON THE CURRENT RIVER FOR FLOATING AND CAMPING.
Our evenings have been cool, but our days are warm. We are floating people and the fishing
is great. We do sell fishing liscense at our Akers Ferry Canoe Rental location only.
The water level is great for canoeing and fishing.
We are asking our customers not to bring firewood from home or another state. We are
trying to keep the Emerald Ash borer (insect) out of Missouri. WE DO SELL FIREWOOD AND
CAMPFIRES ARE ALLOWED IN OUR CAMPGROUNDS.

We welcome canoers everyday. Please remember that we are open for canoeing everyday. We are
here from 7 AM to 7PM daily.
