River Report... FLOATING CONDITIONS ON MISSOURI'S CURRENT & JACKS FORK RIVERS

June 25 thru June30, 2009

BOTH THE CURRENT RIVER AND THE JACKS FORK RIVER ARE OPEN FOR FLOATING. THE RIVERS ARE
VERY ENJOYABLE FOR FLOATING. WE HAVE HAD PEOPLE FLOATING EVERYDAY THIS WEEK.
The Current River and Jacks Fork River are beautiful for floating this week & weekend. COME
AND ENJOY THE CURRENT RIVER AND THE JACKS FORK RIVER. Our floaters enjoyed the rivers
this weekend. The weather was nice. We have canoes, kayaks, rafts, and inner tubes
available. Fourth of July fireworks at Eminence will be on July 3 and at Salem on July 4
We have plenty of canoes and campsites available at Akers Ferry, Jacks Fork, and Jason
Place. THE RESTAURANT AT JASON PLACE CAMPGROUND IS NOW OPEN ON THE WEEEKEND. ON FRIDAY
NIGHT IT SERVES HAMBURGERS, CHEESEBURGERS AND OTHER ITEMS. WE DO SERVE BREAKFAST ON SAT &
SUN. MORNINGS. WE ARE STARTING TO HAVE OUR SATURDAY NIGHT BARBEQUES THIS SUMMER.
The rivers are beautiful for floating right now. We all survived the wind, twisters, and
tornado that came thru here on Friday,May 8. All of our 800 numbers are working.
It was interesting answering the phones on a system that was 1950 & 1960. The park service
has removed the trees from the river.
It is a beautiful time of year here in the Ozarks. The Current River is floatable
from Baptist Camp down.
Our evenings have been cool, but our days are warm. We are floating people and the fishing
is great. We do sell fishing liscense at our Akers Ferry Canoe Rental location only.
The water level is great for canoeing and fishing. We are looking forward to seeing everyone
this spring and summer. We sre rebuilding the bathrooms at the Happy Hollow Store this year.
We are asking our customers not to bring firewood from home or another state. We are
trying to keep the Emerald Ash borer (insect) out of Missouri. WE DO SELL FIREWOOD AND
CAMPFIRES ARE ALLOWED IN OUR CAMPGROUNDS.

We welcome canoers everyday. Please remember that we are open for canoeing everyday. We are
here from 7 AM to 7PM daily.
ALL WEEKENDS IN THE SUMMER for CANOEING, KAYAKING, RAFTING, AND TUBING
ARE STILL AVAILABLE AND CABINS ARE STILL AVAILABLE.
